Tuna stuffed potatoes. This is a very delicious recipe. You can make them for to eat as an appetizer or as a garnish of a main course. They are ideal to serve along with a baked chicken or along with a sirloin on a griddle. These potatoes are very easy to make at your home. They have a very simple and economical elaboration. You will need few ingredients. As a result, you will obtain some tuna stuffed baked potatoes with cheese above them. Lets see how to make this recipe in few steps:

INGREDIENTS for 4 people

  • 8 medium potatoes
  • 4 cans of tuna in oil
  • 1 oz. of butter
  • 3 oz. of hard cheese
  • 1 oz. of mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tbsp of nutmeg
  • Salt and pepper


Time needed: 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Making at your home some delicious tuna stuffed potatoes is very easy if you follow this simple steps:

  1. Cut the potatoes in half lengthwise and bake them for about 1 hour.

    At first, cut the potatoes in two halfs lengthwise. Put them on a baking tray lined with baking paper, with the flesh of the potato facing upwards. Place them in the oven preheated over 392ºF and let to bake them for about an hour. Then, remove them from the oven and let to warm for about some minutes. In this way, we don’t burn when we will manipulate them.

  2. Then, remove the flesh from the potato and put it in a bowl. Mix it with the rest of the ingredients.

    In a bowl, put the butter and the cured cheese previously grated it. With a spoon, remove the flesh from the potato without break its peel. Reserve it for later and add the flesh in a bowl along with the nutmeg, a pinch of salt and pepper. As the flesh will be hot, cheese and butter will melt. Then, mix all the ingredients until to integrate them well.

  3. Now, add the tuna to the mixture and fill the peels of the potatoes with it.

    Afterwards, drain the tuna from the oil and put it in the bowl with the rest of ingredients and mix all again. When the mixture will be ready, fill the peels of the potatoes with it. Put generous quantity of the mixture in each one and place them in a baking tray again.

  4. Finally, place the tuna stuffed potatoes in the oven again to gratin the cheese.

    Grate the mozarella and put a little amount above the potatoes. Then, place the baking tray in the oven again, preheated over 392ºF or in grill function. Let to bake for about 5 minutes, keeping watch the mozzarella isn’t burn. When it is browned, remove the baking tray from the oven and serve it.

This recipe has a texture and a flavour very special. This is very difficult to found in other dishes. Mozarella cheese will give an extra touch of flavour to these tuna stuffed potatoes. It is very easy to make them at your home. Try it!
