EGG CUSTARD EASY RECIPE

Traditional egg custard. This is a homemade dessert which our grandmothers would be proud. To prepare it, you will need few minutes, without counting the final step. You will use economic ingredients that everyone can find easily. This homemade custard are very easy and cheap to make! Let’s see how to make this dessert in a few steps.

INGREDIENTS for 4 people:

  • 4 egg yolks
  • 4 tbsp of sugar
  • 1 tbsp of cornstarch
  • 16 fl oz of milk
  • 1 tbsp of vanilla essence
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 4 cookies

HOW TO MAKE THE TRADITIONAL EGG CUSTARD RECIPE

Time needed: 20 hours and 10 minutes.

A traditional dessert very easy to make. Let´s see how to make it in simple steps:

  1. At first, infuse the milk.

    In a casserole, put the milk, the cinnamon stick, the vanilla essence and the sugar. Mix these ingredients and heat them over medium heat. When the milk are about to reach the boiling point, turn off the heat. Then, cover the casserole and let infuse them for about 15 minutes.

  2. Next, prepare the “thickener” of homemade custard.

    In a bowl, put the egg yolks and beat them briefly. Add the cornstarch and integrate it with the egg until you have an uniform mix. Then, pour a tbsp of infused milk and mix again. You will have a liquid dough that will thicken our homemade custard.

  3. To continue, pour this mixture into the infused milk.

    But before that, you have to remove the cinnamon stick. Turn on the heat to medium power and stir it constantly. Little by little the milk will heat up once more.

  4. At this point, everything will thicken.

    Gradually, the milk will begin to thicken and the custard will form itself. After a few minutes, put these custard in individual bowls. Put a cookie on top of each of them. Then, let stand them 5 minutes.

  5. Finally, put them inside the fridge.

    Introduce the custard bowls in the refrigerator and let them cool completely. For this purpose you will need at least 4 hours, or leave them inside for a whole night. The next day they will be delicious!

Without counting the standing time, these homemade custard is prepared in a matter of 20 minutes, and they are delicious! Try them!
