Minced meat lasagna with bechamel. It is a very classic recipe. It has several steps to follow to obtain it, but it is easy to make. For its elaboration, we are going to make a bechamel sauce, that will add creaminess and some more flavour. Lets see how to make that sauce in this lasagna with bechamel recipe.

INGREDIENTS for 2 people

  • 8 sheets of lasagna (they are in the supermarkets pre-cooked)
  • 1 onion
  • 1 green pepper
  • 1/2 red pepper
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 18 oz of minced meat
  • 9 oz of tomato sauce
  • Dried oregano
  • Oil
  • Salt and pepper
  • A handful of grated cheese

  • 27 fl oz of milk
  • 2 fl oz of oil or butter
  • 2 fl oz of flour
  • Salt
  • A handful of grated cheese

Time needed: 1 hour and 50 minutes.

Follow the next steps to obtain this classic lasagna with bechamel sauce:

  1. First, prepare the vegetables.

In a pan heat over high heat put a little oil jet. Then add the onion, the red and green peppers and the garlic, previously well-chopped them. Season and let it cook for about 10 minutes, while stirring from time to time.

  2. Aggregate the meat.

When the vegetables are soft, add the minced meat. Season again, and with a wooden spoon, crumble the meat and mix it with the vegetables. Let cook all for another 2 minutes.

  3. Add the tomato sauce.

Afterwards, aggregate the tomato sauce and sprinkle the dried oregano. Stir the mix and let it cook for about a half an hour.

  4. Start to elaborate the homemade bechamel.

Meanwhile, we are going to prepare the bechamel. In a casserole put the butter, and heat over low heat. When it is melted, add the flour. Mix both ingredients stirring constantly with a whisk for about 3 minutes.

  5. Add the milk in small batches and the cheese into this sauce.

After that time, pour 7 fl oz of milk and continue stirring with the whisk. Wait for it to mix with the rest of ingredients. You will see the mixture is very thick. Then add another 7 fl oz of milk, and stir again. And finally, aggregate the rest of the milk and mix once more. Now you should have a very thin sauce. Put a handful of grated cheese and a pinch of salt. Cook all for about 10 minutes more.

  6. “Build” the lasagna with bechamel.

In a lasagna mold cover the bottom with the bechamel sauce in order to ensure that the lasagna will not stick later. To make the first floor, place 2 sheets over the sauce. Cover the sheet above with the vegetable and meat sauce, and the sauce with 2 tbsp of bechamel. To close this floor, place another 2 sheets over all. Make another 2 floors more.

  7. Finally, put the lasagna in the oven.

When the lasagna is made, add the rest of the bechamel and sprinkle it with more grated cheese. Place it in the oven, preheated over 295ºF, heat above and below for about 25 minutes. Serve it immediately.

As it is said, this minced meat lasagna with bechamel sauce has several steps, but all of them are very easy to follow. You will get a creamy and tasty dish that all of your foodies will love for sure!
