Meat stuffed baked potatoes. It is an easy recipe to make at home and without any effort. We are going to obtain a tasty starter o main dish. To elaborate them, first you need to bake the potato. Later remove the potato pulp, mix all the ingredients and then, stuff the potato with this fill. Sprink cheese over it and finally gratin it. Lets see in more detail how to prepare these meat stuffed baked potatoes.

INGREDIENTS for 4 people

  • 8 medium-sized potatoes
  • 11 oz of mince meat of pig and beef mixture
  • 3 oz of bacon
  • 1 onion
  • 4 tbsp of crushed tomato
  • 1 tsp of oregano
  • Grated cheese
  • Salt and black ground pepper


Time needed: 2 hours.

  1. First, bake the potatoes

    Put the potatoes on a baking tray and bake them for about 50 minutes over 356ºF.

  2. Prepare the fill

    While they are baked, in a pan over low heat add a little oil jet. Aggregate the chopped onion and season it. Let cook it for about 10 minutes, while stirring the onion occasionally.

  3. Aggregate all the meat

    Afterwards, add the minced meat and the bacon. The bacon will give to this recipe a juicy touch. With a wooden spoon we are going to crumble the meat to avoid the lumps. Cook it over medium heat until it loose its raw pink color.

  4. Add the tomato and the oregano

    Put a bit of crushed tomato to the mixture, to give more juice to the mixture. Aggregate the oregano and mix all the ingredients for another 5 minutes.

  5. Empty the baked potatoes

    When the potatoes already baked and tempered, we are going to cut them by the middle along. Then with a teaspoon retire the pulp. Make sure you don’t broke the peel of the potato. Place the pulp in a bowl and repeat this process with all potatoes.

  6. Mix the potato pulp with the meat

    With a fork, mash the potato pulp. After that, add the meat previously prepared and mix both well.

  7. Fill the potatoes with the previous mixture

    Fill each potato generously with this fill. Put inside all you can. When you finish, add more until the fill protrudes a bit from the potato. All the fill in the bowl must be inside all potatoes. While you are filling them, place them in a baking tray.

  8. Put the grated cheese over the potatoes

    Once all potatoes are filled. Sprink some grated cheese over them (it can be mozzarella or other similar) and put the baking tray in the oven grill for about 10 minutes, until the cheese melted. Finally, sprink a bit more oregano over them.
