LEMON SPONGE CAKE recipe
Lemon sponge cake. It is one of those desserts that never fails. Today we are going to be cooked a very fluffy one. This will not add difficulty to the recipe. The process is similar to that of the 3-ingredient sponge cake that we made in a previous article. Like any sponge cake, this requires an oven and a mold to bake it. If you want to prepare a very delicious lemon cake at home and in a very simple way, here are the ingredients to do it.
INGREDIENTS for 4 people
- 4 eggs
- 6 oz of sugar
- 4 oz of butter
- 1 lemon
- 4 fl oz milk
- 9 oz of wheat flour
- 1 tbsp of baking powder
- 1 pinch of salt
HOW TO MAKE THE LEMON SPONGE CAKE
Time needed: 45 minutes.
Now you are going to see how this delicious lemon cake is prepared.
- First, put the whites to the snow point
In a large bowl, put the egg whites, a half of sugar and a pinch of salt. Keep the yolks in another bowl. Then beat them with some rods until it gets to the point of snow.
- Next, mix the yolks with the rest of the ingredients of the lemon sponge cake
Warm the butter a little until it gets like an ointment. Put it together with the yolks, the milk, the rest of the sugar, the lemon juice and its grated skin. Then beat it with some rods until everything is well mixed.
- Now, Add to this mix the sieved flour and powder
In a strainer, put the flour and the baking powder. Sprinkle it over this mix and stir to integrate it. Afterwards, dump everything on the snow point that you have already. Mix it with a wooden spoon, until you have a homogeneous mass.
- Finally, bake the lemon cake.
Finally, put the dough in a mold lined with kitchen paper. Introduce it in the oven, previously heated to 180ºC, and leave it there for 35-40 minutes. After that time, prick it with a stick to check if it is cooked. If it comes out clean, it’s done.
