Crab salad recipe. This is a simple recipe that on this occasion is going to have a bit special ingredient for its elaboration: pineapple. This fruit will give to the dish a sweet flavour over the rest of ingredients. The elaboration of this recipe is very easy and fast, and it is usually used as an appetizer or an accompany of other dishes. Now, we are going to see how to obtain this simple creamy crab salad.

INGREDIENTS for 4 people

  • 10 crab sticks
  • 1 big potato
  • 2 carrots
  • 2 boiled eggs
  • Some slices of pineapple
  • 1 onion
  • 9 oz of mayonnaise (better if it is homemade)
  • 2 oz of tomato sauce
  • 1 oz of brandy
  • Fresh parsley
  • 1 tsp of sweet paprika
  • Salt


Time needed: 40 minutes.

Afterwards, you have the steps to obtain this crab salad with pìneapple:

  1. First, cook the potato

    In a casserole over high heat with plenty of water add a pinch of salt. Let the water boil. Then, add the carrots. Add also the potato clean with its skin. Let them cook for a half an hour, until the potato is cooked. To check it, you can prick the potato with a knife and if it pass through the skin easily, it will be ready. Then, drain the vegetables from the water and let them to warm.

  2. Prepare the fill of the crab salad

    In a large bowl put the potato already peeled, the carrots and the boiled eggs, previously diced them. Add also the pineapple, the onion and the crab sticks, all these ingredients well-chopped. Mix well all the ingredients and put them on a plate.

  3. Elaborate the sauce of this dish

    Afterwards, In another bowl put the mayonaisse, the tomato sauce, the brandy and the paprika. Mix all the ingredients until you have an homogeneous sauce, with a pinkish color. You can use ketchup instead of tomato sauce to this crab salad if you prefer.

  4. Finally, Add the sauce to the fill

    Then, pour the sauce over the fill and mix them together to integrate all the ingredients. Once you get an homogeneous mix, let warm it before serve. You can add some chopped fresh parsley if you want decorate the salad.
