Baked stuffed hake. Today we are going to make a fish recipe. In this occasion, we are going to prepare a special elaboration with stuffed hake. We utilice as fill some prawns and mussels. These main ingredients will give to this dish a special touch. It is easy to make and don’t take a lot of effort. Here you have then the recipe to make this baked stuffed hake.

INGREDIENTS for 4 people

  • 1 medium hake cut in loins
  • 18 oz of prawns
  • 18 oz of mussels
  • 1 medium leek
  • 1 spring onion
  • 200ml of fish broth
  • 2 tbsp of flour
  • some breadcrumb
  • Fresh parsley
  • Salt and pepper
  • Oil


Time needed: 1 hour.

For making this delicious baked stuffed hake, you only follow this simple steps:

  1. First, steaming the mussels.

    In a casserole, put the mussels. Cover it and cook the mussels over high heat, without water. After 2 minutes, they will be opened. Then remove them from the heat and place them on a plate.

  2. Then, prepare the fill.

    In a pan over medium heat, put a little oil jet. When it is hot, add the well-chopped leek and spring onion. Season and mix them with a wooden spoon, and cook them for 10 minutes, stirring both from time to time.

  3. Aggregate the seafood.

    Add the peeled and chopped prawns, also the chopped mussels as well and cleaned, and a handful of well-chopped parsley. Mix all the ingredients and cook them for another 5 minutes, stirring all the ingredients occasionally.

  4. Add the flour and the fish broth

    Afterwards, aggregate the flour. Mix it with the rest of the ingredients and let it cook for 2 minutes. Then, pour little by little the fish broth while stirring the mixture to integrate all and avoid the formation of lumps. After that, cook the mixture for 5 minutes. In this way, the water will evaporate and and the fill will get thick. After that, remove it from the heat.

  5. Fill each piece of hake

    Put a baking paper on a baking tray. Prevously, season the hake loins by all of their sides. Put the half of the loins on the baking tray, with the skin side facing down. Add the fill over theese loins with a spoon, and sprinkle all with the breadcrumbs. Finally, cover them with the rest of loins, this time with the skin side facing up.

  6. Finally, bake the hake with the rest of ingredients

    Introduce the stuffed hake in the oven previously preheated to 392ºF, heat above and below. Cook it for about 20 minutes. Afterwards, whenthe hake will be cooked and ready to eat, cut each stuffed loin in a piece of a portion size, and serve them in dishes.
